Rachael Sage displays a wealth of songwriting talents in new studio album featuring collaborations with well-known artists

New York-based singer-songwriter Rachael Sage’s latest studio album BLUE ROSES is a quirky compilation of catchy songs delivered with heart. The seasoned performer, who has been performing more than 100 dates a year with her band, The Sequins (featuring drummer Andy Mac, cellist Ward Williams and violinist Kelly Halloran) throughout the US, UK, Europe and Asia, produced the latest record under her own label with John Shyloski.

Blue Roses is a charming blend of folk-pop combining a talented band and Sage’s captivating and quirky lilt to her voice. The experienced musician has shared the stage over the years with performers including Sarah McLachlan, A Great Big World, Colin Hay, Shawn Colvin, Marc Cohn, The Animals and Ani DiFranco. Featuring on this album are well-known musicians, such as members of Daft Punk, Patti Smith and Bruce Springsteen’s bands. A wonderful moment is a duet with folk icon Judy Collins, titled Helpless, where their voices meld together seamlessly.

The album opens with English Tea, reminiscent of top-quality 90s female vocalists and then moves into the title track Blue Roses displaying Sage’s vocals, accompanied by sensational piano and violin. The whimsical and catchy Happiness (Maddie’sSong) will also become a broad favourite, as will Not Leaving You.

With her music having appeared on MTV, HBO, the ‘Fame’ soundtrack, and in the current season of Lifetime’s reality series, ‘Dance Moms’ her songs are now reaching a wide audience. Sage’s breathy, whispery voice and poetic lyrics on BLUE ROSES create a unique sound that will capture and intrigue audiences. Megan Gnad www.rachaelsage.com
