Don’t bog down your system with heavier foods that take more time and energy to assimilate. I usually eat only Vi pound of protein a meal to leave room for a large portion of vegetables. When I am engaged in strenuous activity, like dancing and singing, as I did on Broadway in the musical Woman of the Year, I add more protein to my diet. Then I eat lamb and liver more often, and occasionally beef. Your own intake of red meat depends on how athletic you are and also, of course, on your doctor’s advice. Green Vegetables Yes. Cooked veggies, preferably steamed, are easier to digest if you have problems with gas and bloating.
