SPECIAL POSTURES FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE The Survivor This pose is an alternative to the Standing A Head to Knee; I discovered it when I suffered a severe muscle spasm in my neck caused by too much anxiety and tension, which seemed impossible to relieve. The Survivor helps eliminate the pull on the trapezius muscles, which run between your shoulder blades and up both sides of your neck. When, after one of those days, your shoulders feel like they’re up around your ears, try this pose. It really works! Stand with your feet wide apart, hands together over your head. Turn one foot to the side and then swivel your hips and the upper body to face in the same direction. Inhale. Clasp your hands behind your back, in the same manner as you would fold them across your chest.
