Schofield will be playing hosting duties at home on Christmas Day and he’s already very excited.
The family are all coming to our house because we’ve got the biggest dining table. Whats my role? I’m a very good clearer-upper, says the This Morning presenter, who got the festive ball rolling on 1 D ecember, when he appeared in a number of programmes on ITV wearing a Christmasjumper to raise cash for the Text Santa appeal.
Wine and drink are my job. And atmosphere -music, fun and games. I love this time of year. I’m the world’s biggest Christmas fan.
As for his co-presenter Holly Willoughby, being a busy working mum doesn’t get in the way of her preparations.
I get organised early so I can enjoy the build-up. I like to go into December with everything wrapped as it’s nice to have time to do festive things like ice-skating, says Holly, who can be seen on TV over Christmas with a special edition of her show Surprise Surprise.
Christmas for Holly, her TV producer husband Dan Baldwin and their children – Harry, six, Belle, four, and 14-month-old Chester – is very traditional. We always do the same, she says. We spend Christmas Day with the family and then have a huge party on Boxing Day. The aim is to eat as much as possible in 48 hours. I love it.
Last year’s XFactor runner-up reached No. 3 in the charts with her debut single Sax and has just released her first album, Love, Sax and Flashbacks. So has she been too busy to do her Christmas shopping?
I’m lastminute dot com, she smiles. I’m in the shop on Christmas Eve at 11 o’clock. Don’t take any advice from me about Christmas shopping.
She has no problems scheduling cosy family time at home, though. Every Christmas Eve, me and my sister watch Christmas movies back to back with hot chocolate and marshmallows.
