Scarlett Johansson Diet Menu Recipe


2 2-pound Arm heads red cabbage
4 tablespoons butter
4 tart apples, peeled and quartered cup chopped onion
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
2 cloves
1 bay leaf
2 tablespoons wine vinegar 1/4 cups dry red wine
2 tablespoons brown sugar

Wash cabbage, dry, and slice very thin, discarding the thick center core. Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a Dutch oven or heavy saucepan. Add the cabbage, apples, chopped onion, salt, pepper, cloves, bay leaf, vinegar, and red wine. Bring to a boil, cover, and cook over low heat 3 hours, adding a little hot water during cooking, if necessary. Stir in the brown sugar and remaining butter; cook 5 minutes. Remove bay leaf and cloves.

Serves 6-8.
