Kastor’s self-awareness in this regard has led her to make crucially beneficial training and lifestyle decisions, such as planning long blocks of heavy training, strictly limiting her racing and travel during important training periods, not placing too much emphasis on individual workouts, and being fanatical about recovery so that her body can handle those long stretches of heavy training.
